It’s quite hard to describe just how weird this place really was. From the minute Steph, Pete and I hit the outskirts of Rotarua the sulphurous smell hits you like your locked in a town with people who survive purley on a diet of eggs. Eating is weird, cause you have to learn to block out the eggy smell to be able to enjoy your food. Of course, no-one locally says anything, as if not mentioning it means you can’t smell it. We’ve all tried that one before.
Anyway, just a short hop on the south side of town and the Geothermal wonderland beckons.
